Comcast doesn’t have the best reputation for customer service. They vowed to improve after this notorious phone call, but a quick Twitter search will tell you: customers are still annoyed. If you want to cancel Comcast without the hassle, AirPaper will do it for you for five bucks.
Launched by a couple of software engineers, the concept of AirPaper is pretty simple: you give them your customer information and five dollars, and they’ll call Comcast on your behalf and cancel your cable service. If they aren’t successful, they’ll refund your money. All you do is answer a few quick questions on their site.
It’s somewhat similar to Billcutterz, the previously mentioned site that will haggle discounts with your bill providers. All they need is your name and account number, and they’ll do the leg work.
It might seem excessive to pay someone to make a phone call for you, but $5 is a pretty reasonable ask, and your time is valuable, after all. But beyond time, it’s also about the effort. As someone who’s gone through the headache of canceling my cable service, I’d gladly have paid five bucks to have someone deal with it for me.
