This is a video of the MechWarrior 'Sunder' costume father Ryan built for he and his son, Geraint. It is infinitely better than any of the parent/child costumes at the party I went to, but that's because there weren't any children. Or parents. It was really just me playing the new Borderlands and Costume Quest 2 on the couch all night. "I thought you said you were going to a party." I got uninvited last minute (they turned me away at the door for never being invited in the first place).
Damn, planning a costume years in advance -- that's hardcore. I'm just hoping not a lot of people see this though because I'm going to do the same thing next year with a Cabbage Patch Doll. THAT COSTUME CONTEST WILL BE MINE. Or maybe somebody will let me borrow their real kid. "Nobody is going to let you borrow their kid." No -- nobody is going to let me borrow their kid again. Keep going for the short video.

"My husband had this costume planned for several years, long before we had a child. The inspiration was a computer game he played in high school. When we found out we were having a baby, he got to work. Ryan sketched out the rough designs probably two months before Geraint was born," said Cassandra, the wife of the robot-building dad and mother of the robot-piloting baby.
