Lifehacker Why Making Your Bed Every Morning Matters, According to a Navy SEAL

Making your bed each morning seems like the least of our worries to start the day. However, according to Naval Adm. William McRaven, it may be the best way to start off your day.

We've talked about how easy it is to use military tricks to make your bed, but we've not talked about the benefit (besides a clean room).

Adm. McRaven explains at a University of Texas, Austin commencement speech:

If you make your bed every morning you will have accomplished the first task of the day. It will give you a small sense of pride and it will encourage you to do another task and another and another.

By the end of the day, that one task completed will have turned into many tasks completed. Making your bed will also reinforce the fact that little things in life matter.
